Learn From Ghaleb Hawila
Ghaleb Hawila is an Arabic calligraphy artist from Lebanon and holds a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the American University of Science and Technology (AUST). Classically trained under renowned masters of Arabic calligraphy, he has developed his own contemporary visual language by bridging traditional calligraphy with modern artistic expression.
Over the past 15 years, Ghaleb's work has been exhibited internationally across Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Germany, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and beyond. His artistic practice spans exhibitions, murals, architectural projects, and collaborations that celebrate Arabic calligraphy in contemporary contexts.
He has taught more than 250 students, served as a professor at Saint Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut, and delivered workshops and lectures for universities, museums, cultural institutions, and creative organizations worldwide. He was also invited to speak at SXSW in Austin, Texas, in collaboration with the Museum of the Future.
This course is the result of years of artistic practice, teaching, research, and refinement. It is designed to help beginners build strong foundations, develop confidence step by step, and experience Arabic calligraphy as both a timeless art form and a lifelong creative practice.
